Anyone know any fee free/low free direct earn cards for QFF or a card where you can churn points to QFF? I dont really want to commit my citibank gold to QFF as I use it to churn points to Krisflyer. Must be Visa/MC.

Can not be a plat card, as im a student who doesn't earn enough with the current economic climate :)

Westpac, NAB, ANZ all carry the product that fits into your description more or less...
Westpac has the lowest annual fee i think... and hefty bonus if you apply now...

Only problem with Earth card is that its 1:0.5 QFF. Sorry I should have also added that I spend around $10k a month, so the ANZ is useless as the cap is low.

And also I think the westpac card is 1.5:1 QFF points :(

Damn I want to find a 1:1 card with an earning requirement of 40k ish or less.

Big Question here!!! How on earth that you spend 10k a month by a student salary?!(I assume that statement is true because you can't get a platinum...)

Sounds like you are doing points abusive transactions

Well I don't think there is any product out there at all... Becoz 99.99% of the people out there can't afford to spend 120k on credit card a year on a 40k-ish salary!!! The best for now is the NAB one...but you won't go anywhere 1:1 on gold.... otherwise no one will get platinum!

I know the ANZ has 1:1 up to 2,500 that's about the best you'll get unless you have an AMEX.

I run a business. And it should have been $10k/billing period, so $5k per month.

Anyway, looks like the NAB is best, 1:1 up to $3000 then a reduced ratio.

Thanks all for your help.

If you run a business.... take a look on Westpac business choice
0.66 point per dollar with no cap

Actually NAB Qantas card is 3:2 ratio - I know, I have one. the platinum card is the better option as it has no limit per month (but same point earning).

Here is the link:

NAB - NAB Qantas Gold Credit Card
Thanks, I seem to be getting confused with all the earning ratios. Ok ANZ Gold looks best, 1:1 up to $2500, then 2:1 up to $10000. I have a history with ANZ so hopefully I can get it.

Thanks nlagalle, almost applied for the wrong card!

Thanks. If I spend $5k per month, then I will be better off with the ANZ Gold card, however it depends on whether I can actually get that card.

No problems... the ANZ looks the better if you spend under 10k, unless you could get a NAB platinum card.

A quick check of the points shows this:

Based on 10k per month:

ANZ: 6250
NAB (plat): 6600

Of course if you spend more the NAB is a better option..

The Citibank Citibusiness Gold card earns 1.25 points per dollar (transferable to QF on a 1 for 1 basis in blocks of 10,000) and requires a minimum income of $35,000 per year. From the details on the QF website, transfers to QF will continue as per normal after 31 March (as seems to be the case with most points earning business cards in the market).

More details can be found at CitiBusiness Gold - Citibank Australia - I think there's a cap of 80,000 points per year.

why do you want to use Krisflyer and QFF? dilution of points?
I already have points in both KF and QFF. There will be really no way for me to get points into QFF after March (except maybe around 5k per year from irregular QF flights).

why do you want to use Krisflyer and QFF? dilution of points?

Well in my case:

I put what I can towards Krisflyer due to it's superior burn rate.

However there are various opportunities to earn QFF points that:
  • are Superior to transferring to Krisflyer (ie the current Eerth promo allows me to earn 3 to 4 points per $ which is handy for getting me up to 2 Oneworld reward redemptions
  • can only go to QFF (or another Oneworld airline program for some flights ) such as some car hire, hotels, fletcherJones or tyre purcahese etc.
  • are fantastic sign on bonuses. Sometimes free.
  • Other opportunities such as the 2000 points for adding GPS toa car-hire profile.
So for me Krisflyer is my No 1 program, but I will stil keep accumalting points in QFF as well.
