I think Chianti in Adelaide was great a couple of years ago but I think it's gone downhill and you can't have a conversation there any more because the noise levels are so high

Quay always does it for me here in Sydney though only get to go once per year for a special occasion :(

All this stuff is so subjective. My personal view is that Quay is vastly overrated, but so what. If it works for you then I really don't have any sort of problem with anyone going there, its a free world.

An odd list to be sure, but then I have never taken put much faith in restaurant reviews on tripadvisor.

probably too new to rate yet

It's excellent. I've been three times for dinner now. It's nowhere near as formal or stuffy as somewhere like Quay or Aria; menu is easier, service friendlier. It's still sophisticated and the food is incredible. My new No. 1 in Sydney for sure. Whether I'd call it "fine dining" or not is another thing, but it's definitely special ;-)

I did like the fact they rate Aria Brisbane higher than Sydney. Been to both more then once I have to agree the experience in Brisbane was overall better.

Most things in life is subjective though :) so reaction to these types of awards will always vary from person to person. That said we can only express our differing views and experiences and the next person can process the information and hopefully make a choice, experience it and then form their own conclusion.
