This is my quick review of Hilton Universal City where I stayed a couple of nights with my old mum last year.
Status: HH Diamond
Property: Hilton Universal City Los Angeles
Dates: 20 - 22 April 2012
Rate: USD188 (++) per night
Booked: 2 double beds room
Received: 2 double beds executive room
Miscellaneous: Continental breakfast downstairs in Cafe Sierra. Consists of several pastries/muffins, fruit plate, yoghurt, croissant w. jam/cream, tea/coffee, that is delivered to you. Bit too sweet, we upgraded to buffet on morning 2 for USD9 each - the usual bacon/eggs/tomato etc. There was a USD13 upgrade option also - not sure what you got for that. Plate of comp. goodies delivered to room including fruit, trail mix, creme brulee choccies, macaroons. Comp water. No paper (I omitted to mention the daily paper in the SFO review). Ususal comp internet, no exec lounge. Checkin dreadfully slow.
Short walk to Universal City (and studios). Did not go to Universal Studios (my mum is too old for those rides and things), but the rest of it was interesting enough, plenty of eating places. Short drive to Warner Brothers studio (we went, very interesting). Continental (versus full) breakfast seems to be de rigueur in Hiltons US for Diamonds.
