A fairly standard welcome perk for hotel status holders. Mostly I find them unripe, inedible and decorative only.

So the platter that greeted me at the Pullman Park Lane, Hong Kong was worth a mention and to see if others have impressive fruit platters to share.

This one had banana, orange, pear, apple, grapes, mango and dragon fruit - and every piece ripe and juicy!

Ive had a couple of comp fruit & cheese platters but no idea what triggers it.

Wellington Rydges had awesome cheese.

Every fruit platter selection in Australia I've ever had has always had that tasteless green melon laughingly called 'honeydew'. Yet in the US that melon is as tasty as heck? Their rockmelon is awful though.

What's with getting that melon in tropical Australia and never mango? In the heart of mango country (Cairns, Darwin, Townsville).

Found a photo of the Wellington Rydges. No idea why I got it. Never been there before, cant remember the last time I stayed at a Rydges.

Also received a very nice fruit and cheese platter at the Novotel Homebush and I only stay there about 3 times per year and Im a pleb in their Accor club.

I forgot to take a photo but Perth Hilton Parmelia was sad. Long white platter plate with 2 tiny biscuits, a couple of chocolate covered nuts and a sprinkling of cranberries. Very underwhelming.
