Trying to use my ambassador free weekend night certificate at the Intercontinental Da Nang but they don't release any availability for this booking type unless it is last minute. Planning go away somewhere warm in Asia during the dates 16 May to 22 May for my gf's birthday.

Looking for suggestions on what other Intercontinental resorts I can try in Asia that are highly sought after as a place that needs to be stayed at and experienced. It seems the Maldives and Bora Bora have this reputation but cost a fortune so can't justify going there.

Happy to spend a couple nights somewhere amazing using the certificate and have 82k reward points I could use for an extra night or two. Don't mind exploring a different hotel option for the rest of the week to try something different or go to a different area.

Ideally would like a beachside place that will have good weather during May but open to a city escape with lots to places explore.

While not beachfront, Shanghai Wonderland (more on the outskirts of Shanghai) is on my to do list - built into an old quarry.

But I've noticed that free weekend night issue at a few places.

I noticed that hotel when looking for alternatives. It's available for the weekend night certificate and looks like a cool experience. Seems a bit far from the action though so might be a waste of two days just to make use of the certificate but it's in my list of potential options

Our current favourite is the IC Sukhumvit. No beach for miles and in May very hot and humid.
We like it particularly because we get Club access. We will be there next May though.

Been to Bangkok before but haven't stayed there so will check it out next time. Prefer to avoid it during the muggy season though. Considering going to Beijing or Sanur/Jimbaran IC as they have availability or still go to Vietnam and stay at a different IC

It's certainly very nice. I was there recently.

My apologies. I was indeed in Da Nang recently. It is a very nice location. But it wasn't the IC !

I have been at the Jimbaran IC (Bali) many times. So I stand by that bit!

Thanks for the great feedback on the IC Jimbaran. I will email them and see what they can offer for a room that gets automatically upgraded to Club Lounge access.
