Have I got the right lounges for a QF WP/ OW E?

HKG-Wing F lounge
SFO- Admirals Club
ORD-Admirals Club
LGA-Admirals Club
BOS-Admirals Club
DCA-Admirals Club
MIA-Admirals Club
DFW-Admirals Club
LAX- Domestic AA Flagship Lounge
LAX T4- QF Flounge or AA Flounge??

My eticket doesn't say which terminal the AA domestic flights leave from. Any idea where I can get this info?? Do I need to check the day before my flight?

thanks

almost on the money.

ORD

Use the flagship lounge.

It is quite hard to find, but if you ask around, you'll find it - it's right down the end of the concourse and around a corner behind a bank of telephones.

LAX

All domestic AA flights (AA metal) are out of terminal 4, as are a couple of QF ones. If you are in T4 (as opposed to TBI), then the lounges are the same for domestic and international, and in each case, there is only one option, as it is a combined QF/AA lounge. The best bet is the flagship lounge there.

cheers

I can only comment on a couple of the locations, as follows:

HKG: either the Wing or the Pier F Lounge are great.
LAX Domestic: I believe when flying AA domestic, you only get access to the Admiral's Club not the Flagship Lounge, unless you are actually flying First class.
LAX T4: there is no QF Flounge, that is in TBIT. However, the AA Flagship Lounge is the equivalent, and is not bad.

Edit: obviously I am wrong on the LAX domestic, as per DTM 1's response

Yep, as a QF WP (oneworld Emerald) the OP get access to the F/L's at LAX and ORD as long as they are flying (out) on a oneworld carrier that day.

AA is a little tricky, but if you're a QF WP, then you get access to flagship regardless of class or destination.

At DFW there seems to be an Admirals' Club in each terminal. I have been to two different terminals at DFW in transit domestically and found the lounges there to be really good in terms of facilities. It's pretty easy to get from one terminal to the other at DFW via the monorail.

I guess its all relative but no free internet, no free food. yes its spacious but as with all AA lounges (except the flagship ones) they are a mile behind most QP's. YMMV.

MIA has 2 AA lounges, one in concourse D and one in concourse E.

I found the one in concourse E to be quieter, but not as nice as the one in concourse D. Short walk between the two.

DFW has 4 AA lounges. I don't really have a favourite but havn't been to them all.

To find the terminals, try downloading the electronic timetable and searching for your flights, then checking out the information about your flight. Should show you the terminals it departs and arrives. https://www.aa.com/aa/i18nForward.d...tion/airportAmenities/electronicTimetable.jsp

The OW itinerary planners tend to show the actual terminals. You can download the desktop version from here oneworld - Downloadable Timetables. The online OW itinerary planner (scroll down on that link to 'NEW: On-line Round-the-World Itinerary Planner') also provides this info.

In my limited experience with AA flights the terminal can change just before landing.

On an ORD-LGA flight as we were preparing for descent the CSD informed all aboard which terminal we will land and then proceeded to name the terminal and gates for what I assumed to be connecting flights for all passengers aboard. That theory went out the window when we landed at another terminal. So rush over to the correct terminal and clear security again and sacrifice the bottle of beer that I took from the ORD Flagship Lounge.

Does this mean no free WiFi for laptops? Or no PCs with internet access?

Unless you are an AC member there's no free wifi in the AC's. So oneworld Emeralds and Sapphires of other oneworld carriers dip out. However, if in an AA F/L, ask at the service desk and they may have a complimentary 24 hour 'pass' available.

i must say we are quite spoilt with the QF Flounges in Australia - the AA Flounges (ORD & LAX) just don't compare is appearance, food selection, service etc

however they do redeem themselves somewhat with the beer selection!

What about computers in the lounge with Internet access?

The AC in LAX T4 definitely has at least 6 desktops with internet access and the DFW ACs I have been also have desktops with internet.

I don't recall seeing empty desks with ethernet cables just empty desks for people to put wireless laptops.

I assume the rest of the ACs are the same or similar...

I used desktops with internet access in the STL Admirals Club and MIA Admirals Club.

Not sure about LAX and ORD Flagship Lounges. I think you need to visit the Admirals Clubs for internet access.

JohnK - what's the AC and airport like at STL. I am thinking of flying SYD-LAX-STL-SAT late in the year and would have a few hours at STL...

I loved visiting STL airport and I would not hesitate to route that way again. The Admirals Club is big in size with, I think, 4-6 desktops with internet access and as I did not look at the food selection I am assuming only snacks available.

I was there between 9:00am and 10:00am and I was given a drink voucher and as the bar was open I had a beer. No problem going back to reception and asking for another drink voucher and having another beer. I think AA uses terminal M.

Thanks - my only issue with STL is that there a 1 hour 20 min connection at LAX from SYD...
