Hi,
Does anyone have any experience with the Hilton BRG, specifically regarding differences in the naming of room/bed type between Hilton and the cheaper seller?
For a bit of context; I'm going to be in Budapest in August and found a great rate at a Hilton property through olotels.com (including Breakfast). I checked the price on Hilton.com, to take advantage HH Gold benefits, and found it was significantly higher (and excluding breakfast!). However, the Hilton site calls the room a King Hilton Guestroom and olotels.com calls it a Double Standard. I am pretty sure that these are actually the same rooms being advertised, but Hilton's BRG terms & conditions indicate to me that they would very likely dismiss a claim based on the naming difference.
Given that we're talking about advance purchase rates, I can't give it a go and cancel the booking if they don't do the price match.
There is a significant thread on FT about the BRG, but I couldn't find anything that addressed this issue.
Would welcome any feedback from someone who has successfully or unsuccessfully made a similar claim through BRG.
Cheers,
Greg
