Which seats in your opinion are the best in StarClass of a Jetstar A330?
I've looked on seatguru, but they don't have any info on Jetstar.

Thanks
LP

For a single traveller on an overnight flight, then 2D followed by 1E.

IMO 1A & 2A, a little extra legroom, nobody reclining there seat onto you, and an extra wide aisle as there are only 2 *class seats in the middle front row, 3 in the 2nd row.

1K etc pretty much the same, however normal aisle width on that side

2D is great except from when errant food carts come through and knock your legs (personal gripe of mine)

IMO 1A & 2A, ...
Perhaps you meant 1B rather than 2A as 1A can recline into 2A. ;)

1A/1K are fine for daytime flights; although the cabin does encroach on the floor space near the window as the fuselage tapes in.

Thanks for those. I should have specified more detail. 2 people traveling, on an overnight flight. What's the best 2 seats? :)

oops, my bad

1A & 1B, and yes ifyou want a little extra foot space, stay away from the A or K seats

Having had the misfortune to travel star class overnight to Saigon from Melboune return in Starclass - my recommendation would be - try another airline.

Obviously you have your reasons for saying this, however for routes such as SYD-HNL the available options are very minimal, and the other options are all over double the *class fare.

Whilst IMO I don't feel that *class is a true business class cabin, it certainly beats economy if you are prepared to pay some more.

On Asian routes where there is quite a bit of choice, then sure, see what else is available

(i.e. *class SYD-HNL costs approx $1395, the same leg on QF metal will cost close to, if not more than $4000 and you dont get a skybed either mind you)

2 People then in order of preference:
  1. 1E/F
  2. If travelling South, then 1J/K so sunrise does not disturb, North then 1A/K
  3. If travelling North, then 1A/K
  4. 2D/E

I am starting to wonder if Jetstar cabin crew are conducting an officially-unofficial "vendetta" against passengers seated in 2D on A330s and 1C on A320s. (On the A320s some flight crews now place "out of service" style “head rest warnings” on 1C.) As these seats are some their best (IMO) fleet-wide, JQ management needs to refocus their staff - to stop them deliberately attacking passengers' feet, as part of this unofficial action.

Its on the coughet - Sydney route. Not much choice unless you want to go back to Bankok, and I'd rather not waste a whole day flying to and transferring to and transferring in Bangkok. Leaves 22:00, and arrives 11:00am. I got 1A/B over E/F as I like the windows seats :)

Just note that about 60% of the way into the flight the Sun rises and light streams in through the two Windows at 1A; closing the blinds helps some, but the heat radiating is surprising. The blinds and areas surrounding the windows can get very hot to touch.

I'd go for 1J/K if you are into windows. (Also, viewing out of windows is easier if you are not looking into the Sun).

Just changed it to 1J/K. I can't access the mybookings section of the website to change the seat. Had to do it over the phone. The message when I type in the reference number is :

You are not authorized to view this itinerary.

According to our records, you did not book this itinerary. You are only authorized to view itineraries that you have booked while logged into your account.

If you feel this is an error, please contact the reservation center.

I made the booking through Qantas, and the Jetstar phone operator said I can't access my booking online at all, and she'll have to assign the seat. Jetstar have some great IT systems... NOT
I just wonder if when I turn up at the airport, the seat selection will still be the same.

Hi

Sorry I didn't see this thread earlier but I would strongly recommend against 1J/K because they are on the particularly 'noisy' side of the aircraft in terms of (a) galley action (preparing drinks/meals etc), (b) crew walking up and down from the back (they seemed to mostly use the right aisle) and (c) on my last overnight flight the crew set up shop and were talking for most of the night in the three crew seats which were at the door in front of 1J/K.

I would recommend 1A/B for sure (for a couple), followed by 1E for a single travller. 2D is great, provided the flight is not full and the two seats next to you are taken.

Regards

Yes, but if you are 6ft 1" then when that same seat reclines it is in your face, and I mean really in your face.

Im 6ft 1 and a bit - I know what you mean but I would rather leg room. I must say they have always been night flight so I didnt have my seat upright much anyways

No disrespect intended file51 but I am 6ft 5" and have flown JQ * class to BKK over 15 times and have sat in just about every seat available. Unless you are leaning forward in your seat and the person in front has theirs completely reclined, and I say you would have to be leaning over quite a bit would the seat in front really be in your face.

I would say you are not impressed with JQ. I recommend you fly QF J and pay if you are lucky to get business saver another $2500 for the joy of QF.
