Hi All,
For years, I have used a Westpac Platinum Amex Card with points transferred directly to QFF.
Recently, while complaining to a friend about the difficulty of finding available flights using points on QF,
he said that he now uses an AMEX Platinum card and retains the points earned at Amex until he needs to use them.
That way, he gets the choice of using the points on many airlines, not just QF.
Do those Amex points convert to the equivalent number of points when trying to use them?
Does anyone find Westpac Altitude points work better?
I recall there has been discussion on this subject over the years but I have never been certain what the
general concensus was.
Any comments would be appreciated.

It really depends on the Amex product - some will transfer to other airlines but not Qantas, some will transfer to Qantas on a "Direct Sweep" basis.

Transferring to SQ or MH may allow easier redemption in premium classes as well.

There's much on this forum about that.
