Best way to book Qatar

Hi all,

I'm a Virgin Platinum member and wondering what the pros and cons are to booking on the VA site instead of Qatar directly. It seems to be cheaper booking on the Qatar webpage, but I imagine I will get fewer points. Also, will lounge access be the same booking if I'm travelling in economy?
