Hi, first time on and hoping for some help. I have 350000 points and l am wanting to book flights firstlyto Croatia(Split)and then on to Greek Islands for my husband and myself from Melbourne. I like the look of using 140000 points each for a circle trip. I want to avoid any stops in Sydney(Have been caught there too many times). Dont want to go to London and then back(which comes up when l put it into the trip planer on Qantas site, and l can not find a user friendly route from Croatia to Athens. Can anyone please help me? I would love to see some sample itinerys. Happy to have stopover in any middle eastern or Asian countrys. Thanks

Don't dismiss the idea of use of ferry transport for part of your trip. Our visit to Croatia involved overnight ferry from Ancona (easy train from Milan) that worked very well- early morning landing in Split.
Agree re no go heading west before the home trip to Aust

Suggest you go to the oneworld website and download the oneworld timetable. It is really useful for these sorts of itineraries - just be careful to ensure the flights you are interested in are operated by a oneworld airline and not codeshare operated by a non-oneworld carrier (codeshares usually indicated by a *.)

Split - Budapest - Athens seems to work best.

The other croation option Zagreb - Budapest seems to operated by Base kft - whoever they are, but don't sound like oneworld. They may be, not a subsidiary just operating the aircraft, so I may be wrong here.

Best bet if you want to avoid London and Sydney is fly Melbourne - Singapore-Frankfurt-Budapest-Split or Melbourne - Hongkong - Helsinki - Budapest to plit.!

Thankyou both very much for your sugggestions. I will download the timetables and try to figure it out. Another question, do Qantas charge the 2500 point fee for each phonecall, l figure l may have a few, or just on completion of the booking. Also does anyone know which airline flys directely to Santorini and where from, rather than going to Athens. I have seen reference to this route in brouchers, but they don't state who it is. Thanks again.

QFF charge the 2500 point per PAX "assistance" fee on completion of the booking.

Only charge the 2,500 QFF point fee on completion of booking but just note that if you are trying to validate or price the taxes and surcharges of a Oneworld award then it could be a lengthy phonecall to Qf each time.

From Split? I know Finnair flies to some Greek islands direct during peak season but from Helsinki. Your best, and cheapest option, maybe to transit in ATH and head on to Santorini with Aegean Airlines. I get emails from Aegean regularly and the advertised airfares are relatively cheap.
