Hi Everyone, I've done a search, but it's a bit complex.
I've found an international route I need to fly in about 6 months time, and I can fly through OneWorld or Star Alliance (or WestJet) and they are all about the same price, $2500 AUD once I add baggage (2 adults 1 child)
I checked QFF rewards and I can get the flight for only 90,000 points, which is a value of about 2.7c per point. I think this is pretty good, flying WestJet and fees are only about $60 total.
Problem is I only have 55k points, and I have a few flights it's possible to use them on coming up for decent value also. (1.9c per point value)
I've created a small spreadsheet and the best values I can find are
- Credit Card (not sure I can get one being out of the country etc),
- Health insurance (which is completely pointless, but I can sign up, pay for 2 months @ $1650 and receive 112k points then cancel it, this is 1.45c per point cost.
- Otherwise I can buy wine on QFF and get points at about 2c per point cost.
These are what I can find off the top of my head, are there any other ways to do this? Can I buy points on American Airlines or British Airways or Air Canada to do this in a better way?
Maybe Black Friday sales?
Help!
