Any advice about the best economy seats on Virgin's A330s (both versions), apart from the exit row, of course? I'm assuming the bulkhead seats provide a bit more legroom but does it feel restricted? Are the pitch of these seats similar to row 3 on the B737-800 or is it less than that? Any comments or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

The seat pitch on bulk head rows on A330 is slightly less than row 3 on 737 as there is that small foot well on 737. I find the second row of Y best. More room to stretch out feet and you are fairly much first up for food and beverage services. Also hop off quicker. And if overhead lockers are cramped I find the crew will pop things in their large cupboard at the back of J class. So I'd go row 11 AC on the newer A330 or row 7AB on the older ones. Another plus is that being the "suit" zone, you are generally offered one of the newspapers left over from J class.

As Gold you should be able to choose 7J or 7K both have heaps of legroom between seat and bulkhead. One downside is fixed armrest.

Thank you both for the great advice! Much appreciated.

I did a flight with the family/kids recently and against my better judgement changed seats from the 1st Y row to one of the last rows - 37 I think.

At the back of the A330 the seats narrow to 3 across the middle, with 2 on the windows. There are no toilets aft. So there's no one standing bum-facing you. The Galley is also quite protected from the cabin.

I'm very tall, and found the back seats very spacious. You can also walk around a bit near the back Galley.

Ditto the first or second rows of Y. the bulk head has the advantage of no one being able to recline their seat back on you for the entirety of the flight.

Does anyone know what the actual seat pitch for the bulkhead seats are?
