Shalom,

I'm off to London with a friend and have got seats 40A and B at the present time.
In the past I have preferred the double seats around row 72 for privacy.
I was wondering whether A and B are the seats to have, or whether it's better to move across into the 'mini cabin' part in the middle with 40 DEFG. As HIJ are crew rest seats perhaps that side affords a quieter flight.
Does anyone have photographs of this bit of the 747?

What decided you against the rear rows... Apart from being noisy they are my favourites in 744 Y... So much so I can't comment on the rest of the plane, sorry.

Cheers skip:D

I prefer 40FG as you can recline your seat whenever you want and no other stranger you have to climb over.

When I travel on this particular configuration I usually choose 40D or 40G for both the legroom (with the baulkhead cutout) and being able to recline when I want.

Any noise issue from the toilets is blocked out by my Bose n/c headphones so no problems there.

SeatGuru says the 40 D/E/F/G have limited recline. Do others find this? I'm short, so legroom isn't an issue with me, but I would like as full as possible recline.

Have sat in each of 40 DEFG and they are my preferred seats on the 744 4 class

Recline is slightly limited but nothing too major, the leg room with the cut out bulkhead more than makes up for it

I would recommend 40G if you want a bit more privacy as the crew rest area is opposite you and blacked out so more privacy and is a bit darker so easier to sleep during the day if you need to

Only time I tried to sit in 40A I got op-uped to premium economy which was pretty awesome

Are you saying my SG friend and I should move to 40A and B in the hope of a miraculous upgrade? I could suck up to the FAs and wink.
