On my trip to SFO and ORD next week, I am travelling QF73/QF3119 up and QF3158/QF12 return. Return via LAX. Travelling Y.
Any recommendation for better seats for the QF73/QF12? Prefer aisle.
On another issue, I will be staying at Sofitel in Chicago. Has anyone sought Sofitel Privilege Card? Are there benefits when using Sofitel hotels beyond Australia/NZ? The form for applying for the card asks for "promnotion code". Would appreciate pointers how I can get such code? Maybe thru membership of one or other organisation?
Thanks in advance.

I'll defer the seating questions to someone else :)

As for the Sofitel card - I have one of them and havn't stayed at a Sofitel since I got it! It's nothing special in my books.

The listed benefits:

"It guarantees...

- A VIP welcome (welcome gift, drink upon arrival etc.)
- A room available until 4:00 p.m
- A double room for the price of a single
"

Being free, there's nothing to lose in signing up. I think the promo code field is optional in the application.

I got mine via Visa Platinum, but the program is open to anyone I believe.

See this thread for my recommendations. It will be either 14F, 50J, 315Y config or 14F, 64J, 265Y config.

From that thread, you will see that my preferred seating would be 4A or 4K  .

I think the promo code is optional, and is used to track where you may have been referred from. Given the card is free I don;t really see any other reason for them to ask the question.
