Thailand: Flight disruption possible at Suvarnabhumi International Airport between 11 June, 10 August due to runway maintenance
One of the runways at Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK), which serves the capital Bangkok, will be closed between 11 June and 10 August to allow maintenance work to be carried out. The Department of Civil Aviation is anticipating delays of up to 45 minutes to inbound and outbound flights during peak hours.
Comment and Analysis
Carriers serving the airport can be expected to change their schedules to accommodate the planned closure. Nevertheless, delays to and cancellations of domestic and international flights are possible while the repair work is carried out, though affected flights are likely to be rescheduled with prior notice.
Transit passengers have been advised by the authorities to allow a minimum of 80 minutes to switch flights. Plans are also under way to divert some services to Don Mueang International Airport (DMK), which also serves the capital, while the runway is closed. If the plan is implemented, transit passengers will have to allow an additional hour of time to travel from Suvarnabhumi to Don Mueang.

Not good news.

Back in Thailand in july and hope the disruption stays to a minimum.

Oh well, flying into BKK on 31/7 and out 3/8 so looks like I might be stuck on the tarmac for a bit ;)

Delays going through immigration are not the end of the world.

Cancelled flights on the other hand are a different story....
