So I've booked a few packages through Blue Holidays over the last year but it seems there are conflicting answers on whether or not status credits are due on flights.

I've received status credits from the flights of packages on 2 occasions (Mar and Jun 10) and then they stopped crediting and I was told they were not earnt under packages (with no change to the Velocity Website or T&Cs).

I've noted from previous threads that apparently because it's a package status credits are not due - to this day however Blue Holidays flights are not mentioned as being excluded in the T&Cs.

I'm also wondering that if I booked a package that included DJ flights through another provider (eg Flightcentre) then I would probably get status credits, anyone know if this is the case?

Blue Holidays are not specifically mentioned, but package tours are:

11.6.Unless otherwise specified, Points and Status Credits are not earned for travel on charter flights; flights purchased as part of a packaged holiday;

I don't know why there is such an exclusion, unless they are trying not to expose the jiggery pokery that goes on in costings of packages. Qantas certainly award points on packages.

Hopefully it is another of those rules that gets evicted when they refresh their FF program.

Example of SCs being credited - points are on a seperate line for the whole package (which is nice because it's for everyone who travelled)

Presume you then earn 5 points on the package price, and nothing for the flights themselves. Maybe the SC's were creditted in error!!!!

Hopefully one of the DJ folk can shed some light on it!

Another reason for Status Credits / Points to be calculated on miles flown rather than dollars spent!

It would appear that if you were awarded SC for $$ spent on a BH package then that would've been in error.

Blue Holiday packages earn velocity points, but at this stage not Status Credits.

We are looking at this for the future.

Cheers

Thanks for the confirmation, unfortunately this makes it less likely that I would book a package until this is reevaluated.

I'd suggest it's something they should look at sooner rather than later as well. Part of the attraction of using Blue Holidays should be status credits as you are ensuring you are using DJ for the flights. Would seem to be a no-brainer to me.
