BNE/OOH - PVG September with Velocity??

Hi Guys,

I need to head over to Shanghai for an expo in September (early). I can't book any flight using VA as it says I need to ring the call centre to book. Leaving from either BNE or OOH.

Just wanted to see if anyone knows of some decent options? Any way I can get either an upgradable flight or Business J reward using Velocity or their partners?

Yeh I kind of figured I would have to go via sin. Which is fine. But can I upgrade while booking through virgin?

Guys, when trying to burn the VFF points for an international J seat. What are my options? From what I can see upgrading is OUT if your are travelling on a partner airline.

It looks like my only options for BNE-PVG are via SIN on singapore airlines. Does this mean I need to to book a full J reward seat? anyone know what this would cost? Is it possible to do points + Pay?
