You can earn 50% more points* on Qantas international flights between Australia and New Zealand.

That means you can earn 1.5 points per mile flown, instead of the standard 1 point.

Valid for travel commenced and completed 12 February to 31 May 2005.

Some of the Conditions:
* The extra points will be awarded on Qantas international flights (with a Qantas flight number on your ticket), taken from 12 February to 31 May 2005, between Australia and New Zealand, including those purchased as part of Qantas Holidays packages. The extra points will not apply to flights taken after 31 May 2005. The extra points will be calculated on the base Economy accrual rate for the international flight undertaken. Any applicable Status bonus for Silver, Gold or Platinum members and/or Cabin bonus will be calculated using the base Economy accrual rate. The extra points will not be earned on any connecting domestic services within Australia. This offer cannot be combined with any other flight offer.
^ Discount is before surcharges, fees and taxes. Discount does not apply to any air fare component of a holiday package. Passenger must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer and their membership number must be quoted at the time of booking.

Although interestingly, the first time they emailed us, they had it incorrect (in that they advised it was the return price)...they subsequently emailed again with the correcting information (one-way).

Yeah that was interesting because I wanted to fly with my wife from Sydney to Auckland. When I looked at the fares I found they were way more than the email. Only a call to QF and a kind person told me that the return rate was an error... Thanks QF!!

It doesn't matter too much because you can still get great rates of QF from Sydney to Auckland even in short notice.

I haggled with the person on the phone and while I didn't get the rate quoted, I got a better rate than I think I would have got after the correction email came out. She had to check multiple times with people in the background whom I never spoked to which was interesting for QF - that never normally happens.

I got a good rate anyway but I think most people won't be so lucky now the correction email has come out.

Yes, I rang before the correction e-mail was sent and they honoured the original offer - I just had to pay NZ taxes which were not included in the original e-mail. So the return flight effectively cost a total of $40. Good deal!

I have three return Oz <-> AKL trips over the next three month, all within the dates specifed for the bonus points.

All were booked prior to 12th feb and all cost just under $400.

The T&C of the bonus points offer do not indicate it's specifically for bookings made after 12th so I suppose I'll get an extra 50% for these as well. Pity about my MEL <-> AKL flights 5/6 Feb.
