Hi everyone,

Sorry if this sounds dumb.

Im new to the Frequent Flyer game and am just a bit confused on the whole bonus points on sign up.

Looking at the HSBC platinum card with 60,000 on signup if you spend $3000 of more on eligible purchases in 3 months.

I can see the excludes things like government charges and BPAY transactions. But does that mean you cant use the card to pay bills and get the $3000 down from that?

Im starting to think just by swiping the card id have a hard time spending that amount of money in 3 months on just regular purchases?

Can anyone clear that up for me? Or am i seeing this all wrong?

Thanks very Much

Regards

You can swipe the card or you can pay online / over the phone. Anything really, rates, water, power, phone, internet purchases the list goes on.
