750,000 points needed to max out the 150 status credits at 1 SC per 5,000 points.

How many credit card sign-on bonuses is that?

I think you will find this is targeted to Amex charge card / or other bank transfers that allow manual transfers. Regardless, in the current climate not sure I’m that keen on transferring for only 25%. If it was a 40% bonus like Velocity on 750k and over - I would totally transfer.

Which credit cards allow transfers to QFF?
I looked and could find the CBA reward cards family and the Amex Platinum Edge, is there more?

That's it as far as I'm aware.

I wonder if the system is smart enough to differentiate between manually transferred points and a monthly sweep from a QFF earning CC? I'm waiting on a 100K sign-on bonus from NAB, if it comes through this month I wouldn't mind the 20 SC...

What would you spend that many points on with Velocity?

Without clarity around which airlines will remain VA partners post covid, no VA operated international flights, and a degraded domestic J service on the cards (on a 737 no less), even a 100% transfer bonus couldn't sway me into transferring to Velocity right now. The risk of Bain taking the airline full LCC or gutting/wiping Velocity is just too high imo.

Sorry maybe I wasn’t clear. Currently Velocity has a 40% bonus / I was trying to say if Qantas was offering a 40% bonus I would have transferred to Qantas (25% isn’t enticing enough in the current climate). Instead I will keep the points with Amex. I agree completely, no way would I transfer them to Velocity.

Ah gotcha, sorry my mistake, I misread your post!

Platinum Edge doesn't allow transfers to QF, only the Platinum Charge card.

A couple of overseas Amex Membership Rewards cards also transfer to QFF 1:1.

Not sure the transfer bonuses are enticing enough to "lock in" Amex Rewards to Qantas without a specific redemption in mind.

That's right actually, reminds me my UK Amex actually allows it. However they're likely more valuable to me as a route to obtaining BA Avios, so doubt I'll be sending them to QF.

As you say, the bonuses aren't enticing enough for a speculative transfer - 15% isn't a huge bonus, and the SCs, while I'd usually be all over that, are irrelevant this year.

I feel much the same. Being based in the UK, BA avios are much more useful to me. The status credits are attractive but I only have enough Amex points to get about 5 status credits, so it won't really get me much closer to lifetime silver or gold, so at them moment I'm undecided.

Now that the status credit support has stopped I'm tempted to switch the few flights that I have back to earning in BA Executive Club, particularly with their current reduced status tier thresholds.

I just wish QF would have a few more 'on the ground' status credit offers that those of us overseas could take part in.

It is interesting that Qantas aren't the only oneworld airline looking to bring in revenue through the sale of points by offering Status Credits (or equivalent) as an incentive. Whilst Qantas are doing this indirectly by selling Qantas Points to credit card companies, Finnair are being more direct about it.

Finnair have recently introduced a promotion where they are selling their award points direct to their frequent flyer scheme members with a bonus of up to 100%, and also giving bonus Tier Points (their equivalent to Status Credits).

I wonder will Qantas follow suit by offering Status Credits as an incentive to purchase Qantas Points. If they did I'm sure it would bring in some revenue, and would be enough of an incentive to encourage some to buy points that they wouldn't otherwise.

What I also think is interesting about Finnair Plus is that even in normal times they have an option to convert a limited number of their award points to tier points.

I always find it ironic that in their 2009 "enhancements", Qantas basically restricted the ability to transfer points from all but a handful of credit cards (because direct sweep gives them better data on member spending and finances).

Yet they continue to come up with these transfer bonuses to try and dress up the finances of the Loyalty division.

All cloaked with the "hurry" "don't miss out" "what are you waiting for" marketing-speak designed to create a false sense of urgency around a deadline only they have themselves set.

Even though my Amex Memebership Rewards would have been more valuable to me as BA Avios, or even a statement credit, due to my Status Credit addiction, I ended up transferring to Qantas under this offer.

When they hit my QFF account I will have an odd number of SCs, so I hope they run this offer again sometime when I have built up more Amex Membership Rewards so I can round off the number of SCs.

Did QF quietly amend the T+Cs for this promo?

"This offer is not applicable to any card products listed at qantas.com/cards or other credit or charge products where the Card Partner automatically transfers your credit or charge card reward points to Qantas Points on your behalf on a monthly basis."

Also end date extended to 16th Dec.

This was always the case AFAIK.

I noticed that Emirates have an offer to earn bonus Tier Miles in Emirates Skywards for converting hotel points as well as credit card points. Perhaps Qantas might consider running something similar in the future to convert hotel points to Qantas Status Credits, although I'm sure if they do it wouldn't be likely to be great value.

Has anyone who transferred points, received their bonus points or SC's? The (very) small print said to allow up to 15 business days from end of promotion of 30 November.
