I'm still trying to get my head around their custodian model (i.e. shares bought on Superhero are beneficially held in my name rather than directly owned by me).

Mind you, other platforms use this model as as well so it will probably become more common (if it hasn't already).

I haven't traded for years, so this might be the perfect excuse to "dip my toe back in the water'

Not CHESS as far as I am aware, so there is some level of risk with this type of ownership, despite what the business will claim.

Do your own research, but plenty of info out there that outlines what the risk amounts to, including not being afforded protections under the ASX administered National Guarantee Fund (NGF) in the event of a bankruptcy.
