Book direct 2013

I guess most of us are registered for this promotion. I have not had any points post for it and I queried it with IHG they advised me that it was a targetted offer only for online bookings for members or non members in Africa, Asia and Middle East who book through an online agency.

Ironically I had picked up a brochure for this one which I had kept and had also kept the confirmation registration terms and conditions they had emailed me and no-where does it say that on the brochure or the confirrmation conditions I received.

I have politely replied asking if they would check again and enclosed copies of both the brochure and confirmation and advised I beleived that I had complied fully with THEIR documentation and that if the brochure was wrong then it was not my fault and I beleived I was entitled to the 8,000 points as I had had the required number of stays during the validity period.

If anyone is interested in the outcome please respond here and I will post the result in due course.

One of the few bonus registrations for ihg that has not come from this Blog so I am confident in querying them given I have the brochure etc and provided them with a copy

I've not received anything on the "Book Direct" registration (nor for the "Book with Us" component of the Big Win) despite having two directly booked stays so far. I wasn't emailed anything on the "Book Direct" offer so I'm not unhappy about that, nor would I risk enquiring about it, but that's not the case for the Big Win "Book With Us" component which doesn't seem to be happening either despite me complying (I believe) with all T&Cs, but I'll post more about that on the Big Win specific thread.

Well I am staying in the UAE tonight, and my hotel had the leaflet. Apart from a 'Terms and Conditions apply' (which is not published on the leaflet), there is nothing saying that I can't sign up ...

Hang on to the brocure and use it afterwards to justify your claim

I've been credited for Book Direct 2013 promo ...

I Registered on 14 July, and STILL received 2,000 points for a HI Potts Point stay on 11 July !!!!!!

Also got another 2,000 points for an IC SC stay on 16 July.

However, nothing for an IC Sydney stay on 4 October.

So, yeah, can't work out what actually triggers this .... ( all my IHG bookings are via PP booking site - except the IC AMB Weekend rate )

Success,....................... 8,000 points posted today" in appreciation of my patronage and as a gesture of their committment to serve me better" and a reinforcement that it only applied to members and new members residing in Africa, The Middle East and Asia

I feel very comfortable pursuing this one as I did pick up the DL brochure promoting it before I registered and stayed.

My experience in the past is that if you put up a polite reasonable case they ( IHG) are very fair.
