Hi Guys
Looking at going from MEL to SIN, availability on the day is terrible, but today a Y1 popped up (on KVS).
Now, this Y1 is actually a Q fare, so its pretty cheap.

But I'm, not ready to book. I was thinking to do a "Hold This Seat" online for $25, which gives me another week to decide.

Question is , has anybody been successful in changing a Hold This Seat, into a Points + Pay award online. Or even how long does it take for the fare to be released back into the pool IF a "Hold This Seat" is cancelled. I know I run the risk of QF dumping it back into a fully Y bucket rather than the Q fare it is now.

I spoke to telephone sales and she couldn't give me an definate answer except for, if I did it on the phone, she could do it for $60 non-refundable.

Thanks

Rob

I have used it; your booking in the class is secured.

When you finalise you payment the total ticket price may change due to amendments in surcharges, taxes and fare adjustments.

Such changes are generally minor, especially with the fare as it is not generally possible to hold a date not in compliance with a fare's validity.

The $25 is credited as part of your payment.

Here's the basic details:

Hi serfty,
Thanks for the reply.

But did U pay Point + Pay for the booking or just straight cash?

I tried to hold the seat when booking a MEL-AKL flight last month and use point + pay later but failed.

When you try to pay for the seat that you paied $25 to hold, the option to use points is not there.

Pay - never considered use of points in such circumstances would obtain sufficient value for the points when there are more advantageous uses for said points.

I agree 1000%, 1c value per point is coughpy to say the least, but thats a whole different tread and discussion. :)
