Hi all booked my first business class flight from Adelaide to Singapore for myself wife and 10 year old son,on July 8. We haven't booked a returned flight as yet planning on being away for tho weeks. Thinking off going over to Langkawi for a few day, maybe should have booked the flight straight through? I'm a Accor plus member and there seems to be some well priced hotels on offer, We are Very exited this is our first trip in Business and wife is starting to think my obsession with FFP is worth it.
Any suggestions welcome,

My wife and I stayed at the Westin Langkawi a few years back and really enjoyed the 4-5 days we had relaxing there. Similar to you, we went through SIN with SQ then SilkAir. Due to the fact you'll be on separate tickets, make sure you leave plenty of time to clear SIN customs and re-check in, as there is no guarantee SQ will check you all the way through from ADL. Alternatively, spend a night or two in SIN (you could do something like Sentosa Island which your son might enjoy).

Enjoy the trip...especially J class!

You should add the SIN-Langkawi leg to your booking. Same number of points.
I was thinking of this, I booked through Virgin, when I looked at this option after I already booked my flight I think it was about65,000 points my booking was 53,000?

If I am able to add the Sin-Langkawi leg to my booking, are we able to access the business class lounges in Singapore airport?

Ah you are right, I was thinking from Melbourne where it would be 65,000 points either destination. In your case:

ADL-SIN: 3,351 miles = 53,000 points in business class
ADL-SIN-LGK: 3,802 miles = 65,000 points in business class

Yes you would have access to the business class lounges in this case.
