Greetings listers,

I had booked some tickets to LHR which I wish to change and I thought I might give BA a go through the QANTAS website. However:

* will I be able to seat myself, STA, in the same choice of seats I have now (ie do they have an equivalent of Row 40 available preferentially to OWE flyers.

* is there any cute seating on the 777? I prefer to fly on these to the 747, but won't go in an Airbus.

* who looks after their 747s now and are they decent or dodgy? I know QANTAS has little to recommend it in this regard with offshore maintenance but I'm curioius.

As an Emerald you should be able to pre-allocate bulkhead seats on BA. Not sure if exit rows are complimentary though.

Exit row seat selection is definitely complimentary if you are a WP. I have allocated exit rows on a number of BA flights now.

BA don't have any long haul Airbus in their fleet yet, but if you're going intra-europe well.. you might want to take the train..

What's wrong with Airbus anyway?

I have in the past as well but I was not sure if it was still complimentary with all the changes are going on in the airline industry.

That is a misnomer actually, 90% of all Qantas heavy mainteance is done in Aus. As for BA, what do you consider to be offshore maintenance?
