Hi
After some advice here. I'm looking to book a United Business Standard seat (not saver) using KF points.
Is this possible and is KF the best way? I also have Citibank Prestige and Altitude points.

Thanks

Yes you can use KF points but you'll need to ring the call centre - you can also check flight availability using the rather clunky ANA Mileage Club website

sorry to bump up an old thread but recently had to book an urgent award ticket from NY (any) to SYD and wanted to use KF miles.
checked united site and found some good availability in business standard (not saver), rang KF and they couldn't find any seats in J, even when given a 1wk window, even though united gave multiple options in J standard for most of the dates.
KF call centre guy mentioned that it might be reserved only for United FF members and not open to general *A members.

so is there any other way to judge better availability for future redemptions?

Higher priced awards are almost always exclusively the domain of that particular program and are not available for redemption by partner airlines. This isn't unique to UA, but applies pretty much across the board. It's similar to QF's any seat awards, which aren't available to other programs.

You need to find saver award (or the lowest priced awards on other airlines) for partner redemptions. (One exception is AA's ultra off-peak awards, which run in reverse, but again those are only available at the lower price to AA's own members).

Thank you that makes sense now.
Great to know for the future
