Hi,

I haven't flown US domestic since the merger but I need to book a few flights for next month to get my 4 ~. I understand both AA/US codes count for ~ but apart from that are there any advantages in booking the code of the operator vs a codeshare? I will have 2 AA operated and 2 US operated flights but I want to ticket them as one; is the pricing generally the same? i plan to use some 500mile upgrades LGA-ORD on AA-operated flight; should I be booking this as AA?

Thanks.
