Question about ANA (All Nippon Airways). I am looking at booking a domestic Japanese flight in a few weeks (787 if possible). Question is how do I book in Australia? Thier worldwide sites don't include Australia. So how can you book a return service with them? Thanks.

I just did this a few weeks ago. I just happen to be going to japan in the first week of 787 domestic flights so had to indulge. I managed to get a return flight from Haneda to Hiroshima on the plastic parrot

As StevePER said, just go to the Japan English language site.

The process in Japan is a bit different to Qantas or Virgin here in Australia, or any overseas airline website I've used for that matter. I've since found JAL and Skymark have similar systems.

For the phone number field I managed to get around the validation by using my home phone number here in Australa, ie 039xx_xx_ without the +61 at the front. I guess it is expecting a Japanese phone number. I doubt they will try to call me.

After you select your flights and enter your details you are taken to the confirmation page. From here you have about 2 days to actually pay for your flights. Remember to take down the 4 digit reservation number (just print out the confirmation page is easiest)so you can come back later.

The best feature was that seat selection is free and available straight away ( before payment!).

Hope this helps

Thanks so much for your advice ben5k - that was exactly what I was after :D

Re: Booking ANA domestic flights - seat reservations

Hi VHOEJ, I still don't have enough posts to reply to your PM so I'll just do it here.

If you bring up your booking there is a row of four icons towards the bottom of the page. The seat reservations is the first one of these. From memory you can select seats after entering your details and making the reservation, before payment is made.

It is now nearly four weeks since I made the reservation so my memory is a bit hazy on the subject. I think the booking page does change a bit after making payment. And you can certainly change seats as much as you want after making payment.

Hope this is of some help.
