I'm unable to look at flt. details for lax-phl in Oct. '11 on aussie aa site but am able to find details on us site. Has something changed and can't booked us domestic flts. through aussie site, which I doubt.
Thank you.

It seems to be a hit and miss thing.Last year I booked through the aa.com Aussie site as it was cheaper. This year tried to book a YUPP ANC-LGA-wouldn't come up on the Aussie site so rang the BNE office who booked it without extra fee as they also could not see it on the Aussie site.

Was under the impression the YUPPS could only be booked via the US site, at least that was my experience last year.

Hmmm strange I was looking for some around Feb/Mar last year for June/July travel, and had to go via the US Site.

aa.com and americanairlines.com.au do not pull from the same GDS inventory.

What you see on aa.com is not always on the AU site. It is usually very very restricted compared to aa.com.

As mentioned, calling to the AU AA call centre (in BNE) usually results in the waiving of fees. Also, best to call a minute or two after they open as lengthy wait times (40 minutes or so) can result calling them.

It's Easy to Book US AA Flights from Australia

This is easy with the new AA.com site. Apologies for the cross-post - I also responded in another thread:

1. Go to AA.com and select "Australia" from the worldwide sites drop-down near the top of the home page in the upper right hand corner (it's the one immediately to the right of "My Account").
2. Set up your flights
3. Enter your passenger details and AA or QFF number in appropriate fields
4. On the payments page enter your Australian credit card info
5. Submit

YOUR DONE.

Hard to imagine an easier process than that.

No calls to BNE, UK, India, or Mascot required. You can do this all online.

If you are not happy with the flight options this method use the US AA.com site to hold a booking and call to provide your credit card number. Not a problem in my experience.

You're missing the point that unless you feel like calling Brisbane (and spending a long time on hold most the day if you don't get in at 9:00:01am Brisbane time) and usually paying a phone booking fee (they often won't waive it saying you should use the americanairlines.com.au site even though it has less inventory), you're out of luck.

There are ways, as serfty has previously mentioned, of using your AU card on aa.com, and i've done it plenty of times :)
