Help please!
Just tried booking some QFF Business Award seats BNE -LHR. Each time they came up with Business seats for the shorter leg of the journey and then Economy for the longer leg, but still wanted all the number of Business points
Have tried a number of different routes and they all do the same.
Obviously we want the longer leg to be Business.
Any suggestions will be gratefully received -Thanks

This is a bug in the QF system which is well-known, but doesn't seem to get fixed. Best advice is to phone the call centre and tell them about the problem you are having. They will be able to do the booking for you manually (presuming, of course, that there are Business seats available on the dates you are looking at) .

Thanks John - I phoned QFF number & the girl said they have the same problem and even if they book for me it will come out the same - economy on longer leg. She also added they have had numerous complaints about it, and some QFF members have even gone ahead with the booking without realising. She said it is the fault of Qantas and they dont seem prepared to change it. Now totally confused!

Ring again. You got someone who didn't know how to fix the issue. Make sure they don't charge you for the booking fee either as it's not your fault you cant make the booking.

As previously mentioned - ASSUMING there ARE seats available. SIN/LHR is a very busy route!

Thanks Munital I will try again. Do you know how long that glitch has been there? The girl I spoke to said to feed it back to Qantas as the more negative feedback they get the sooner they may fix it??????????

Try booking for 2 out of SIN first as that is what I have been doing recently on Kris points to LHR.
Phone again if this is a no go.

It's a massive PIA. I'm in the process of booking a oneworld classic J ATW which is hard enough at the best of times, but the system throws up all these dates with "available" J however when it comes to selecting it, it might be J SYD-BNE then Y BNE-LAX. The you've got to start all over again!

I really do wish they'd fix it up. I'd much rather get a whole lot of "not available" days than have to individually go through each day to find actual availability. Never used to happen.

Thanks Cove - will do. Had just spoken again to QFF & this operator said that the reason the longer leg was Economy was because all the business seats were booked out. 2nd different explanation today.

The glitch has been around for a number of years but I wouldn't hold my breath for Qantas to fix as it is to their benefit if you book economy and pay business class QFF points.

On that booking engine problem please mention it if you get surveyed.
I did my survey last night after nlagalle and I discussed that problem last night.
FlyingSenior keep at the calls to QF for 2 seats.
If you give us the rough planned dates and destinations remember there are some very clever helpers in our AFF group.
Have you looked from MEL?

QF came out overnight with a business class paired offer from BNE to LHR for about 6,500. This may explain the lack of seats on points. When I tried the points plus pay it was a lousy value for points. One ways to LHR can be seen for about $3,100 with 2 travelling.
