I am looking to book return fares from Singapore to London on line for next year using the 90 year anniversary sale that is on until 7th December.

(Qantas)

I would like to book upgradeable fares.

Using the Singapore portal I see "sale" fares which are SGD1507 return. When I select fare details it shows:

"Flight Upgrade Awards are not eligible on this fare."

These appear to book into restricted O class fare so that's fine.

I then look to "Super Saver" fares which are SGD1607 return. When I select the "Super Saver" fare details (Bookings - Fare Types), I see:

"Flight Upgrade Awards are eligible on this fare."

However, these fares appear to book into N class which is "Restricted" class from which upgrades are not normally eligible.

Has anyone had any experience or comment on whether these "Super Saver" fare upgradeable with Qantas Frequent Flyer Points or not?

I have put a query into Qantas Customer Care using their "E-mail" facility.

I believe I've successfully upgraded Int N class before (but I think it was in the Red Edeal column, not that it matters), but O always seems to be sale fares.

Haven't checked the terms, you'd be the expert, but I seem to recall that N was non-upgradeable domestically but ok Int.

Pretty sure I've done it before.

I've booked 'N' class Super Savers several times and always managed to get the upgrade requests pocessed by calling the QF premium desk.
Sometimes no problem, other times they took some convincing.

Hmmm ... the sale is on until Dec 7. I'll wait a few days for a possible response.

If I do go ahead, it will be screen dumps and prints all the way ...

The only reason I know these fares book into N is by using the 'view source' method - otherwise I would have already booked them.

serfty, like others I have booked N class and managed to upgrade them - using the Singapore portal and also the UK portal. Simply call the Premium desk and - hey Sir - that's no problem! :-)
