It's August but I'm not yet able to book a classic seat award next August (2012). Does anyone know when this opens up?
Thanks a lot

Award booking can be made up to 353 days in advance.

That is what I thought too, but I am waiting for a late July 2012 to open up. Operative words are "up to".

I see today (11 August 2011) that 28 July 2012 is a valid booking date. According to timeanddate.com
From and including: Thursday, 11 August 2011
To and including: Saturday, 28 July 2012
It is 353 days from the start date to the end date, end date included

If you can find a seat or not is another matter!

The 28th certainly shows on the selection panel, but there are no actual seats showing as available back to the 24th I think it was, for the flights I am looking at. And they havent shown as being available at any time in the last few days.

I shall keep trying. There are "stacks" of seats available for the couple of weeks before though.

So an update. Still no classic seats available and well past the 353 days now, so I gave up and bought the Any Seat reward. The classic seat still had around $700 taxes I had to pay, whereas the Any seat was an upfront payment of around $1500. Still saved myself a lot on the normal PE fare I would have had to pay London - Melbourne, so am happy with that.
