I need 35 more SC to get to QF Silver and have to do another quick trip to Sydney (mum is Ill) before my creds expire on 31/06

So a return red-e-deal will not do it for me (20 pts total) but a flexi-saver will (40 total). But I am flying up with my wife and 4yo... so having two discount economy fares + a flexi-saver in the one booking is what I am looking for...

Has anyone done this through the QF site...

Essentially I am looking at paying $250 to get to silver... is this silly?
I have QClub already, but like the idea of +25% points + better seating priority

Only you can decide if the +$250 is worth it.

In terms of different booking classes, may be better to speak to qantas directly and see if they'll waive the fee.

If they wont, then book separately, and see if the bookngs can be linked (so you get seated together).

It's probably not that big an issue to be booked separately (book the e-deals first for your family, then book your flexible fare on the same flight).

I don't think your SCs are ever going to expire!

If you do have till end June (May would be tight), perhaps you could consider an extra trip to somewhere close/cheap like ADL, CBR, HBA to get yourself over the line, rather than pay the extra 250 for something you're already doing...ie. get some value out of the extra dollars.

If you're going to be so close to Silver, may as well get it!

And hope your Mum is on the mend.

Thanks for that..

Yes, that is the hard question (more travel vrs more expensive fare), but with two others with me (Partner and child) it may be more economical.. (hmm.. weekend in Adelaide might be nice though considering how cheap it is..)

Pity there is no "convert miles to credits" options (like topping up miles with cash) Being so close I am happy to give up some miles!
