Booking on SQ via Virgin - can KrisFlyer points be used for upgrades?

Hi all,

If I book via VA for a trip on SQ metal, can I used KrisFlyer points for upgrades? Does anyone have success, failure or horror stories on this subject?

Call SQ to check but i think as long as it has an SQ flight number (not a VA one) you can.

Must be SQ flight number, booking through VA website you'll end up on VA codeshare and these can't be upgraded. Learnt this the hard way earlier this year

Only redeeming thing here is you get status bonus on points and it counts as segment towards status
