I'm trying to help my parents price and book an International Multi City trip on the QF website: Itinerary is: ADL-SYD-SFO-JFK, IAD-LAX-YVR-SYD-ADL. I can choose all the flights but when it comes to pricing, I get the following:evil::
We could not find fare for the requested itinerary
Am I doing something wrong? It's very frustrating!!

Also, is a Circle Pacific fare something I could use here?...not very familiar with this fare and was wondering if it would be a cheaper way to book the above itinerary? If so, can I book a Circle Pacific fare online?

thanks for your help!

For a Circle Pacific fare, am pretty sure you'd have to go through Asia either on the way over or on the way back.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I have seen that error message (many times) in the past when trying to book international multi-city itineraries. It appears to be some generic error and even though you can select all the intermediate points the final itinerary is somehow invalid.

Circle Pacific fares come in 2 basic versions, the 22,000 mile and 26,000 mile. There is a 29,000 mile version but must include travel in South America. Must cross both the North and South Pacific. So you would need a routing like ADL-SYD-SFO-JFK/IAD-LAX-YVR-HKG-ADL which would be ~24,973 miles. Have a look at the threads on AFF and visit the Oneworld website. Not sure if it can be booked online.

Sorry I can't be of more help kpc.

From recollection, the Circle Pacific fare limits stopovers to 2 in each area (SWP, NAm, SAm, Asia) so limits its utility for this type of itinerary. It used to be particularly good as an alternative to point-to-point travel to the US in D or A, because the fares were significantly cheaper than point-to-point. This advantage has been eroded by large price hikes.

And, no, they can't be booked on-line ... yet.

Thanks for the replies so far...
I have found the Circle Pacific conditions:
oneworld - Circle Pacific

Flights and stopovers

Four free stopovers are allowed with the 22,000-mile product, five with the 26,000-mile product and six with the 29,000-mile product. Additional stopovers can be purchased for economical rates.
I think I might send them to their local travel agent...it's all getting too hard for me!

Needed to check if my memory is failing, and good news for both of us!!

Rule 8A (iv) does provide for a limitation of 2 stopovers in each region only, BUT this refers specifically to FREE stopovers; and,
Rule 8B (ii) limits the number of PAID additional stopovers to 2 in each region.

So, at the end of the day, you could have 4 stopovers in N.America with the additional 2 costing extra.

And yes, there is also the total number of stopovers for the whole trip in the rules, but should be ok with those.

Note also that with JohnK's routing, I don't think a Onewold service exists between LAX-YVR. If you re-jigged the order of destinations (if that is possible), you could get it to work.

Couldn't you use the AA codeshare?

Unfortunately, must be Oneworld-marketed and operated flights, so codeshares on non-OW airlines aren't allowed. Canada is a wee bug-bear of Oneworld, from my perspective, because of that limitation.

Pretty much the same rules cover all the Oneworld products, with the exception of xGLOBx fares. The Global Explorer fares are considered quite distinct from the other Oneworld prodcts, given the additional airlines, including AS, which may be used.

As an example, the xGLOBx fares were not included in the recent 10% discounts, presumably because of the financial arrangements with the non-OW airlines.
