I'm planning a trip to Europe in March next year.

I've not settled on the Australia to Europe leg, but pricing is expensive and I will probably go Economy.

On the way back I know the date and that I will be going LHR - CBR, and I'd like to travel Premium Economy. As I search for available fares though they seem to be decreasing options each day.

There is still one OK option BUT to grab it now I would have to do as one way AND it redirects me to the Qantas UK site changed in GBP and using the UK rules.

Any problems with this / better solutions?

Thanks

The QF AU website will redirect you to the QF website of the country of your first departure in any booking.

So in your example it'll be the UK site and charged in GBP.

As to your question about issues: No, not if that is your entire booking and it's straightforward.

However, if you add another sector on the front (Eg. if you started from Paris), it does get complicated. The whole trip would be repriced and charged in EUR and ticketed by the "France office".

Just a reminder that one-way international flights are generally priced at a premium to return journeys, so if you're booking on separate PNRs just ensure that your AU-EU plus EU-AU don't end up more expensive than booking the entire thing as a return trip.

To be blunt, for a March trip next year, spend a week sorting what you want to do and then book the whole trip. It’s only going to get more expensive. March isn’t that far away.

If you book a flight into LHR, you can always book an intra Europe leg separately later.

ex-LHR stacks up taxes. You probably better off starting from somewhere else in Europe.

Good point. For the OP (& note that connections count as the longer journey - full rate):
