Bose released the QC25 N.C. Headphones earlier this month which are at the same Aust. R.R. price point of $399AUD as the QC15's were.

The QC15 model is no longer on the Bose web site so I assume they are now discontinued and gone forever with the QC25 being the replacement model.
I would like to hear from any F.F. who have purchased the new model for their opinion/ review .....re performance - fit/feel - any noticeable change from the 15's etc.
I would also like to hear from anyone who comes across any good pricing both in Aust. and O.S. in the short term STD USA price looks to be $299 USD for the QC25's (again same as the QC15's were state-side)

The QC15's I bought years ago in the states have served me well, but they are getting a bit worn and are a bit battle scared and it is time to update so any F.F. review would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Hi Clive M - I got a pair 2 weeks ago. They are my first pair of noise cancelling headphones so I can't compare with others. They'll get their first onboard run on a trip to SIN this week and I'll post feedback. From use around home I can tell you they are very light and comfortable. The case is compact (21cm x 14cm x 5cm) You can now use them with no battery, which apparently couldn't be done with QC 15s - though you really need them powered for decent listening experience IMHO. I'm really happy with the sound quality and the noise cancelling performance. So all up I'm very pleased that I got them.

Thanks Rugby, I look forward to seeing what your road test reveals, I do prefer the full ear cover these type of H/phones offer. The only slight down side I found with them is that on long haul flights your ears can at times get a bit warm with the QC15's. Bar that they have never missed a beat (pardon the pun) for me. Looking at the pictures on the web the case for the 25's does look a little more compact and that is good .....I'll look out for your feed back ..Cheers.

I have just come back from a trip to Europe and the QC25's were fantastic. Very light and the noise cancelling (on a plane at least) was very good indeed. I got the gst back at the airport so cost around $365ish.

Very pleased with my purchase.

I expect QC15 stocks to move with discounts.

I bought my only Bose headphones around 7+ years ago ... they weren't that good - have they improved?

According to Ozbargain, QC15's were spotted at Sydney duty free (inbound) for $199 on clearance recently.

The Bose store told me they had been withdrawn from sale. Unavailable.

Possibly so but other retailers who have stocks are likely to sell them at discounts, or return stocks to Bose for credit.

That's a great price. I still love my QC15's. I travel with both them and the 20's now for long haul.

Any other options / recommendations ?
My sister gave me some Sennheiser PXC 450's to try on a transpac return trip last month - while comfortable and a superior build than the Bose I didn't rate the N.C. function that much.
If anyone has come across a stand out option in the N.C. field , please do tell.......

Buy them from a Bose store or Bose online and you can send them back within 21 days.

I do quite a lot of long haul and I'm very happy with them.

I wonder what Bose do with anything that is returned?

Good Q ... straight back on the shelf is my guess.

Re: BOSE QC25 fairly new to market Quiet Comfort 25 Acoustic Noise Cancelling headpho

I wandered into the Bose store in Vienna and gave them a whirl. They were quite comfortable but I didn't really notice a difference compared to my 15's. They were advertised at 299eur.

I was interested to try the 20s actually. I found them quite comfortable and was considering buying them.

The chap in the store said I could bring in my old QC3s that were out of warranty and that he would give me 50% off the new ones (20s or 25s).

He said it's a global policy - but I'd never heard it before. Anyone else aware of it? Works out at about A$220 I think so I'm considering doing it, but would probably get a better deal doing it in Australia and then claiming back the GST assuming the Australian stores will do it also.

What do you mean by inbound ? Arrivals ?
Is it in the international or domestic terminal ?
That price is almost worth blowing a few points on a MEL-SYD-MEL J trip lol.

After disembarking in SYD and before immigration there is a duty free section.

The new Bose QC25 NC headphones are fantastic. There are several slight improvements on the QC15s with the reputable all round quality of Bose.
