Last night, I booked some flights on AA from SFO to UIO (to start a Galapagos cruise:p), and after thoroughly checking everything (so I thought), press the "submit" button, and relaxed. 30 minutes later, the eticket came through, and to my horror, it had my SO names reversed...you know surname replaced by first name, first name by surname....:shock:. I have always prided myself at being very careful with these matters, and often wondered how others have managed to stuff up....well, after hundreds of online bookings, I have now stuffed up as well!!

Wondering (and with heart pounding as it was the cheapest Y ticket booked - "N" class) how much it would cost to fix the problem, rang AA in US, got answered within 5 minutes, and the very helpful agent fixed the name at no charge, and emailed a new e ticket with the correct name or more correctly the correct order to a very relieved customer!!

So have you done this too? did it cost you anything to fix it?

I haven’t yet had the misfortune, but I would guess there must be some small chance of it eventually happening… so I’ll dig this thread up in 15 years or so and tell you then :p

Glad you got the corrections done for free :)

Yes with all the grandkids when in NYC.Went straight down to the Manhattan office of AA where the lovely lady said there is a $25 change fee-but we couldn't have grandad looking silly could we so again no charge.
Once again I check several times before pressing submit but for some reason it just didn't click that time.

LOL, yes - many times with Tiger when they first started. It wasn't a problem, and there were no additional charges, just embarrassment when i first ever checked in (…and subsequent flights, until I reached the point where my forward bookings gelled with the time that I had realised I was not entering my name into bookings the backwards Singaporean way).

Have done this 3 times in the last 5 months when booking with AA's online tool. Something about the order of those fields doesn't make sense and I of course don't actually read them correctly.

In all 3 cases I've just rung the AA call centre and asked them to change them around, which was done at no cost all 3 times.

Twice that was for KUPP-style fares LAX-IAD return, and the third time for a cheap LAX-SFO one way fare.
