I flew JFK-LAX-MEL in J arriving on Wednesday morning.
The breakfast options are frankly woeful with no cereal or regular bread toast options.
With a small serve of fruit and brioche toast (and Vegemite) the best of a poor lot for breakfast it was served.
Frankly, I am stupid for ordering toast on a plane, it can't be done. Brioche toast is even worse. It is a soft sugary bread that falls apart at the slight touch and with butter that is frozen solid even after several minutes sitting on the originally luke-warm toast it is a total waste of time.
To their credit the FA did later offer to try and find some food from elsewhere but given we were within 90 minutes of landing I was more focussed on getting off the plane.
Having connected from the JFK-LAX flight I didn't eat dinner on the LAX-MEL flight because I went to sleep as soon as possible. I was looking forward to a larger breakfast but once I saw the menu I knew this wasn't possible. However, I literally couldn't stay awake for dinner because it was after 3.00am New York time when we took off.
The self serve food was some sugar glazed biscuits and chocolate which wasn't very nice.
Have others had this problem or is it just me?
