Everyone is welcome....

I will have my last uni assessment that day - so I will be either celebrating or require consolation.

Either way, see you there! :D

I shall be bringing a guest from Canada, who used to work in the industry and now happens to fly all over the place. He’s a member here, but only picks up the gazette, no posts, CaptBob.

So looks like there we have 5 that will turn up that night. Quorum achieved and drinks night can go ahead. ;)

This would have been a good time for him to get his firsts post on AFF. :)

I'd love to attend but alas will be in Melbourne (for once!)..

But I will be back!

Just a thought, but there was talking of comparing the Platinum NGCI tags to the Silver NGCI tags in another thread, so could a Platinum member with the new tags bring along one? I’ll bring my Silver tag and we can compare the colours.

Too late my card decided to stay in SYD a little longer.

Trying to see if I can stall the use of the new card for as long as possible....

I’m not sure if you’re one of those people that likes to collect every flight on a cardboard BP, but I found checking in online, walking straight into the QP and then swiping my card at the gate, no need to print anything, really easy.

Naturally, if you like to have a cardboard BP I can see the reason for not using the card, as it signifies the end of those sorts of BP’s. But I found the new system, without the NGCI part of it, very easy to use.

As an addendum, Bob, the guy I was bringing with me, has double booked and wont be coming now, but is interested in coming another time, just he wont be in Australia in December and probably not even in January, but we’ll work something out.

I unfortunately have to pike. I am sooooooo broke at the moment it's ridiculous and have to put my last bit of shrapnel into petrol so I can get to Kingaroy for a gig at the weekend.

I saw the new check-in facilities in use at SYD airport yesterday. As expected some of the people looked confused.

Yes I do prefer to keep cardboard boarding passes but accept (not necessarily agree with or understand the reaon for change) that they will not be around for much longer.

FWIW The business class check-in counter still printed a cardboard boarding pass and I am guessing they are still available in the lounge and the service desk. I wonder when will QF phase out cardboard boarding passes.
