We are flying out today. Hopefully not too disrupted by customs staff on strike! I realise my business award is star class. My itinerary is showing lounge access. I do not have any status with Qantas. Also in regards to bag allowance I have been somewhat confused. When I logged into the jetstar site I upped our bag allowance based on what was showing there but now I see our itinerary showing a lot more bag allowance in both directions. We are doing economy award on way home. Did my award already come with increased luggage ?

So with JQ, unless you have a max bundle booked as part of your reservation or have QF status you would not have access to a lounge in BNE, as the basic business fare including classic awards does not provide lounge access.
However all Business fares including classic award include 30kg checked luggage and two x 7kg hand luggage.

That's what I would have thought but itinerary showing lounge acces for each of us under extras for are outbound?

If you have it in writing then I would take a copy, then try and see what occurs. The worst thing would be a no but having it in writing certainly helps your case.

Very true! And I'll be giving it a go. Delays expected today so it would come very much in handy

Let us know how you get on with the lounge access, I'm intrigued.

Well after a little confusion at the desk we got let in! I think we just got lucky as there was another couple who they were having similar confusion with.

Our family flew Melbourne to Honolulu in Star Class on award booking, and we were told no access by Qantas. When we got our boarding passes
they had Lounge access printed on them. Same coming back from Honolulu, everyone had lounge access.

The information on the QF Industry Sales site seems to indicate that lounge access is NOT included.

JQ Business fare with Max bundle customers[FONT=Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif] can access the Qantas Club Lounge when both inbound and outbound flights are both in business on the Max bundle (no guests) or JQ associate lounge. [FONT=Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]Is your fare definitely a Classic Award? and do you have an itinerary issued by Qantas with a Qantas PNR? If you completed your booking with points on Jetstar.com and you received a Jetstar itinerary your fare might be an any seat award, in which case your fare may very well be a Business Max fare.

I'm am too quite interested to see how this plays out with lounge access.
