Brisbane international lounge?

I have looked at the Virgin website but am a bit confused by the wording for access to the Brisbane international lounge.
I currently hold gold staus with velocity but the way I read it, I will not be able to access the lounge for a DJ flight to HIR. Can anyone confirm if this is correct?

Unfortunately VA international short haul do not have lounge access. Having said that I have been able to use the Koru Lounge at BNE if it's not too crowded and the right lounge angel is on duty

I was permitted to access the lounge recently when flying international short haul but the offical answer is sadly no.

I fly VA to AKL and never have a problem getting in to the AirNZ lounge...

That being said, I usually fly on NZ metal... (which you can book from VA website) and its usually cheaper!
