Hi all,

I am in the early stages of planning our honeymoon. At the moment we want to combine snow and sun, so we are thinking about skiing in either Japan or Canada and lying on the beach in Bora Bora.

Ideally, I'd like us to fly J, but I suspect this will probably be out of budget so Y+ is probably more likely. That said we don't really have a budget yet because we don't know what it is all going to cost and therefore what we are prepared to spend and where we are prepared to cut costs.

It seems to me that doing a three flight trip to Japan (BNE - Sapporro - PPT - BNE) is quite difficult and given that the two countries are almost in opposite directions it might be better to look at 2 return trips. Would the experts here concur with that or is there satisfactory multi-stop routing?

We thought of Canada because Tahiti is (sort of) on the way back so may be more efficient for flight availability.

Can anyone help with some initial routings/costs for J, preferably on OW airlines but happy to entertain other airlines as the honeymoon is happening irrespective of the points earn or lack thereof (this isn't a SC run :))?

TIA.

Edit: school boy error: the dates we are looking at are Feb/Mar 2014.

There are some interesting TYO>PPT>BNE options for around $5000 each in J.

For example, NRT>ICN>HNL>PPT>AKL>BNE. You could perhaps combine that with a JQ OOL>NRT one-way at the start of the trip.

I do think Canada might be easier. Or you could consider keeping it within Japan and going to Ishigaki or Miyakojima for your dose of sun.

Just some food for thought, I'm sure others will have better ideas.
