Its become quite dark and lots of thunder/wind around.

Looks like it will be gone in the next hour, cb's topping out over 40000ft, not fun, 20 knot movement isnt slow.

Not much happened in the city today apart from some rain. Sitting in the balcony tonight enjoying the cool weather.

Gold Coast getting hammered at the moment. I can only see a wall of white from my balcony.

Yep, lots of smallish but heavy cells all over SEQ and Northern NSW.

Sunny and humid my part of the woods right now. But think we might be in for a show a little later. Already had a brief power outrage a few hours ago (maybe 2 mins duration), so network re-routing resolved the outage.

Going to be a long night at BNE airport. In the QF pub if anyone needs guesting and will post in relevant thread too.

Just announced airport closed until further notice
Not surprised - there is a lot of lightning around and will be for a while. And will be similar case for Gold and Sunshine coast airports. Brisbane West airport (Wellcamp) is probably clear now :)

A demonstration of a typical storm pattern around Caloundra last night. The often go south and north of us. I have never seen it quite like this before though.

Today is the opposite. Basically the area around Caloundra is the only place on the East coast of Australia getting heavy rain.

Going to be warm this weekend and possibly damp on Saturday afternoon. This weather is keeping our garden looking very nice.

Tornado warning for the city! It explains why we had leaves swirling above us here in Herston just before it started raining
