I'm flying out of AMS when leaving a Europe holiday later in the year. I'm on the CX service leaving at 1310.

Tossing up whether to fly BUD-AMS the say before and spend a night at Amsterdam Airport Hyatt (about 90 euros a night), or to just fly from BUD on the morning and enjoy an extra full day in BUD.

What's on time performance like for these intra-EU flights? KLM is the only airline flying direct.

what month of the year are you travelling? If around xmas time I would stay in BUD as the xmas market there is awesome.

I think that the on-time performance is generally pretty good on intra-EU flights, even on LCCs. So with KLM I think you should be fine. The EU 261/2004 regulations certainly help to keep the airlines on their toes!

I would be happy with the early morning KLM departure from BUD. The aircraft for this flight arrives around 11pm the night before, so delays are pretty unlikely.

Travelling in August.
The one factor that tempts me to fly the night before is that I'm on a CX J award booking out of AMS do wouldn't want to miss that. But sounds like the early morning Sunday flight should be fine
