Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if I could get your opinions on the following.
I plan to redeem my QFF points to get a mixed Business/Premium Economy rtn flight either SYD - BKK or SYD - HKG (direct flights only e.g. QF1).
Can anyone advise on which sector and airline I should use Business Class and the same for Premium Economy?
Many thanks,
japansuki

For me QF wins hands down on Premium Economy.

For business I'd take BA over QF747, but QF380 over BA. (If that makes sense!) :)

Agree with the sentiments above, although for me there's not much between QF 747 business and BA 747 business class.

The QF 380 business is preferable (it doesnt fly to BKK or HKG though, only SIN or LAX).

In Y+, QF wins on any aircraft (easily).

I agree BA 747 business wins for me - simply because of the real flatbed arrangement - I always slide down the QF 747 model and rarely get a good night's rest.

Y+ - only flown QF and it was rather good; my first BA Y+ upgrade was re-upgraded to business, so I never had the chance to find out how good/bad BA Y+ really is. But others I know, who have flown BA Y+, have also commented that QF is better.

It is a very tricky choice between the Skybed and the Flat bed. The food on BA is ok but variable. The staff on QF can either be dragons or unicorns - often I can't be bothered with the gamble and just fly CX.

The BA Y+ product is a step up from Y not a step down from J...

The same happened to me, paid $US300 at check-in at SFO for a BA Y to Y+ upgrade for a SFO-LHR flight and ended being op-upped to J when leaving the BA lounge at SFO. The BA flatbed was very nice. For Y+ I would chose QF though and try and grab a J seat on BA.

I agree- Y+ on BA is pretty ordinary...same food and service as Y

Only paid the upgrade fee at checkin for the fact you get full points rather than 0.25 pts per mile (LHR to HKG sector).....

Y+ on QF is like J on some other airlines.
