trying to find a cheap time of the year to get from PER to PNH/SGN - could go with Malaysian airlines for more SC's... hmmm
 
A round trip from MEL in early Dec is coming in at about $1k for me, jumping on .br and 3K (or a little for MH) for positioning, not to mention a DSC offer for parts of it too...tempting!

Bit late now, but for those who did make a booking... this would be enough to meet the AA plat challenge, if they add QR to the list. If you wanted to make a start on the AA side, plat will get you the 100% status bonus on flights :) Pity I'm still a bit off LTG, otherwise I'd be first to try it.
 
Various reports on FT that booked sectors via DOH have now been changed by QR to the correct direct route (i.e. no-longer via DOH).

The usual US threats of litigation because they didn't get something for nothing followed.

Glad I didn't bite the bullet, was really considering it at one point!
 
I haven't recived any emails yet to notify me of any changes. And I brought three round tickets :)
 
As posted on FlyerTalk, Qatar has J fares CAI-DOH-BKK for a little under AUD1400 return for various dates over the next few months. The price doesn't work in reverse.
