Business class question

I am flying business class tomorrow for the first time from Perth to Melbourne. When I get to the gate do I get called to board the plane before anyone else (i.e. economy) How does it all work?

My MO is to wait in the QP/J lounge until the boarding call, enjoy another drink and then wander down to the gate. By the time I arrive the queue is either gone or shortened considerably and I have never had any trouble finding overhead locker space in the J zone.

Did that today on a QF 737 and was caught out. No space in the J lockers. Had to find a hole back in economy. Have you ever tried to get from Row 1 back to Row 5 to retrieve your bag, not easy. A state minister from QLD boarded after me and one of the crew removed her own bag to make space for the minister's bag.
Have to add had 4 persons from North America in J, with their carry on's ...aka mini suitcases. Something needs to be done re the size of in cabin bags.

Have you ever tried to get from Row 1 back to Row 5 to retrieve your bag, not easy.

There have been times when I have had to put my bag back 2-3 rows. Just ask nicely and someone will pass it up to you.

Don't need to be North America. Some clown in 5A (767) waited for everyone in business class to deplane and then casually got up and retrieved his bags from 2 different overhead bins and fiddling with newspaper as well. He actually deserved a kick up the backside and for a second there I was going to push past him.

If you are going to travel business class then have some manners for those around you. And I don't care how much you paid for your airfare (if in fact you did pay it out of your pocket) as(s) that does not give you any right to hold others up.
