Hi All,

New Member today ::D

Travel back and forth to coughet but never looked into the cheapest business class seats. Seems Jetstar have the cheapest but it is not a real business class seat. Thai has the Bangkok stopover which is not a bad thing but they charge WAY too much for a business class seat to coughet. Seems strange considering they do ATW for the same price.
Any suggestions ?
Rick

Not sure of dates you wish to travel, but from WebJet in May it looks like Thai is cheapest after JetStar.
I'm always loathe to recommend JetStar, however it is a non-stop flight.
Having said that when I went there a couple of years ago I was much happier in whY with SQ, even with the SIN stopover

Thanks Paddy

I agree with the Jetstar comment. I have done it once and once (G0d forbid) with Australian and love Thai. However am going 3 - 4 times a year and BC is getting expensive.
Will be travelling (booking) next in August as the current trip is booked and paid for. (Thai)

Seems the trick is to get out of Oz as cheaply as possible then go from there (where ever)

My suggestion - fly to HKT on JQ in its 'Business' class (it's a daytime flight, so don't need to sleep), and then get a proper Business seat with TG for the overnight flight back to Australia. This should reduce your travel costs without having to slum it in Y.

Unless doing it on FF points wouldn't a One way JQ "premium economy -" and TG business class be more expensiave?

By the way the class of travel to thailand should not be a consideration unless one really wants to torture themselves in JQ economy....

And purchasing a Jetstar J class ticket doesn't automatically give you lounge access, ffp and sc's . You need to opt-in into the bundle packages which then can make the all inclusive prices look ridiculous.

If you do it once every 6 months or so then look at CX for the entire trip, buying tickets out of TPE.

Works out at $2700 for departures from most Australian cities, not the cheapest it comfortable and earns points as well as 280SCs each way.

I also travel to Thailand three or four times a year and rarely bother with the budget airlines.
An internet search followed by a tour of the travel agents usually gets me a good price.
I flew Air Asia once (BKK-MEL) in an emergency and was pleasantly surprised, but they were not much cheaper than the main stream carriers.

Thats once you position yourself TPE?

I would look at buying your tickets from the Thai end. It is most likely that by enlisting yourself a good Thai travel agent you could pick up some good Thai business class deals. That way you just need to buy a one way ticket on JQ once and then can keep buying tickets from Thailand.

A good one is Thai Business from Phnom Penh (I know in Cambodia but may be of use) can often be picked up for around $2400 return, pretty good value if you ask me.
